Fundamental standards for the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies

The general requirements for accreditation are defined by the standards of the serie ISO/IEC 17000 and by other normative basics. This first chart gives an overview over the standards for accredited bodies.

The international accreditation organizations ILAC, IAF and EA as well as the SAS itself, have established a series of guides, which support applicants, accredited bodies and also SAS auditors with the branch relevant application of the standards. These guides can be downloaded for free from the website of all four organizations.

The second chart contains the normative standard rules relevant for accreditation bodies.
