Standards
Standards of the Series EN 45000 and ISO/IEC 17000.
The general requirements for accreditation are defined by the standards of the series EN 45000 and ISO/IEC 17000. This first chart gives a review over the standards for accredited bodies.

The international accreditation organizations ILAC, IAF and EA as well as the SAS itself, have established a series of guides, which support applicants, accreditation bodies and also SAS auditors with the application of the branch relevant standards. These guides can be downloaded for free from the website of all four organizations or obtained at the SAS for a fee.
From the same normative series result also the standards for accreditation bodies. The second chart shows a summary of these standards.
