The import of everyday and specialized products such as cosmetics, children’s items, weapons, personal protective equipment, explosives, fireworks, as well as precious metals and watches is subject to strict requirements in Switzerland. Depending on the product, specific authorizations, controls, and authorities’ responsibilities apply.

Precious metals and watches

The provisions in articles 1 to 3, and 5 to 21 of the Law on Precious Metals Control regarding the fineness, designation and composition apply. The Federal Customs Administration is responsible for the enforcement of those provisions.
