SAS Compass

As the Swiss Accreditation Service’s (SAS) guiding principle, the SAS Compass sets out its mission, working methods and responsibilities. It provides guidance and forms the basis for a coordinated approach in day-to-day operations.

Under new leadership, the Swiss Accreditation Service SAS took an important step towardsfuture viability last year. As part of a comprehensive organizational development process,employees and management intensively examined the SAS's mission, working methods, andtasks. The declared goal of these efforts is to further develop and strengthen accreditationin Switzerland.

The result of this process is the SAS Compass, a guide that shows how we commit to a strongand competitive Swiss economy and ensure the quality and safety of products, services, andprocesses. Our compass is in line with the overarching guiding principles of the SECO, whichalso shape our attitude and actions.

Accreditation procedure

The SAS sets out its accreditation procedures in practical guidelines for all types of conformity assessment bodies. All relevant guidelines and documents are available online.
