Sector committees

The aim of the SAS sector committees is to interpret the accreditation requirements for specific sectors or fields. In doing so, they help conformity assessment bodies (CABs) and the SAS to reach a common understanding of these requirements. They thus make it easier for CABs to meet these requirements and for the SAS to assess compliance with them. The sector committees act as an important link between SAS and the relevant specialist fields. They are composed of representatives from interested parties (industries, trade associations, public authorities, etc.) and lead assessors and technical experts from SAS.
