Ongoing Negotiations

At this time, Switzerland engages in negotiations regarding a chapter on trade in services in the framework of its free trade agreements with the following partners:

EFTA - MERCOSUR

The negotiations of a free trade agreement between the EFTA States and MERCOSUR (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay) were launched on 12 June 2017 in Buenos Aires. The latest round of negotiantions took place from 10 to 13 April 2018.

EFTA - Malaysia

The negotiations of an economic partnership between the EFTA States and Malaysia were opened on 25 March 2014. These negotiations contain a section on trade in services and the market access commitments will follow a positive list approach. The latest round of negotiations took place from 13 to 16 March 2017.

EFTA - Vietnam

The negotiations of a free trade agreement between the EFTA States and Vietnam were launched on 25 May 2012. The latest round of negotiations took place from 29 to 31 May 2018.

EFTA - Indonesia

The negotiations of a free trade agreement between the EFTA States and Indonesia started on 31 January 2011. The latest round of negotiations took place from 23 to 27 April 2018.

EFTA Customs Union Belarus-Kazakhstan-Russia

The negotiations of a free trade agreement between the EFTA States and the Eurasian Customs Union began on 23 November 2010. At this time the negotiations are interrupted.

EFTA - India

Upon the conclusion of a feasibility study in 2007, negotiations between the EFTA States and India were launched in October 2008. The latest round of negotiations took place from 18 to 21 September 2017.
