E-Government for SME
The aim of e-government is to use information and communication technology so that the public administration is as economic, and as close to the citizens, as possible. Anything the public administration used to transmit on paper from one office to another, and finally to the customer, shall be transmitted electronically.

Simplified electronic licensing, application and registration processes are important for reducing red tape. Electronic services of the authorities are increasingly popular with the economy, not only with regards to digitalising the processes, but also simplifying them and gearing them towards the customers. That is why the Federal Council considers e-government to be an important pillar of the growth policy.
EasyGov.swiss and SME Portal
The E-Government for SME Section of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), is pressing ahead with the propagation of electronic government services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and operates two portals for this purpose: Easygov.swiss – the online service centre for businesses – and the SME Portal – a source of information for business owners.
Corporate Relief Act
With the creation of the Corporate Relief Act, the legislator aims to reduce the administrative burden on companies. The centralised electronic platform EasyGov.swiss makes a significant contribution here as an online counter for companies. The aim of the Act is to reduce companies' regulatory costs and promote the digitalisation of government services. The Federal Council is implementing the Business Relief Act in stages.
Digital Public Services Switzerland strategy
The Digital Public Services Switzerland strategy for 2024-2027 stresses the importance of understanding services and processes. Data shall be transmitted from the customer directly to the authorities, and finally to the archives, without any interruption. Common standards for a structured and secure way of handling electronic data and documents are a prerequisite.
Location Promotion Activities Message
The Federal Council wants to focus even more on Swiss SMEs and the regions as part of the Location Promotion Activities Message 2024-2027 (in German). In addition, the topics of “sustainable development” and “digitalisation” are to be upgraded.
