Location promotion
Through its national business location promotion programme, the Confederation works with the cantons to attract selected companies to establish themselves in Switzerland.

Information for investors
Switzerland is widely recognised as a stable and reliable place to do business, with a high-performing education system, modern infrastructure, and favourable tax and regulatory conditions. Communicating these advantages in an increasingly competitive global environment requires active, coordinated outreach.
This is the role of the Confederation's national business location promotion programme. It raises Switzerland's profile as a business location abroad, targets companies proactively, and provides information on the opportunities available. Core activities include communicating Switzerland's strengths as a location, building relationships with potential investors in selected markets and sectors, and coordinating efforts across a range of partners.
Organisation and responsibilities
Mandated by the Confederation and all cantons, Switzerland Global Enterprise handles the operational delivery of the national business location promotion programme. The programme is run by the Business Location Promotion Steering Committee, which oversees the programme and guides its strategic development.
Responsibility for the concrete measures to attract and support incoming companies lies with the cantons. This division of labour between the Confederation and the cantons is a well-established model of federal cooperation.
