Nursing homes or care at home for 44% of people aged 80 and over

Neuchâtel, 10.11.2020 - At the end of 2019, 90 342 people were in long-term care in Switzerland's 1563 nursing homes. 2339 assistance and home care services supported 394 444 people. For 100 people aged 80 and over, 15 were in nursing homes long-term and 29 received care at home. 76% of residents in nursing homes were aged 80 and over according to the Statistics on Home Care Services and the Statistics on Nursing Homes from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
