GDP flash for the first quarter of 2025: Swiss economic growth above average

15.05.2025 - According to the early estimate of Switzerland's quarterly real GDP around 45 days after the end of the quarter ('GDP flash'), Swiss economic output is estimated to have increased by 0.7% in the first quarter of 2025. This growth was driven significantly by the services sector, with industry also showing overall expansion.

The flash estimate (‘GDP flash’) around 45 days after the end of the quarter is based on early information available on the production components of GDP. Estimates are used where values are not yet available. The result may therefore change after the complete and updated source data become available.
Detailed results on quarterly GDP and updated calculations for the previous quarters will continue to be published by SECO after around 60 days.
The GDP flash is a form of experimental statistics.
Experimental statistics are produced using new methods and/or data sources and made available to data users at an early stage. They are a focal point of the Confederation's 2024–2027 multi-annual programme for statistics.
