Ronald Indergand (born 1983) has been head of the Economic Policy Directorate since 1 March 2026. From June 2022 to February 2026, he headed the Growth and Competition Policy Division within the Directorate. Prior to this, from August 2016, he headed SECO’s Economic Affairs Division. He completed his doctorate in Economics at the University of Bern in the same year. He spent time conducting research for his thesis at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California, Berkeley, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. His research findings were published in academic journals. From November 2009 to autumn 2015, Ronald Indergand worked in economic forecasting in the Economic Policy Directorate. He obtained a Master's degree in economics from the University of Bern in 2009.
